Happy Birthday ---

Today is Taryn's 3 month birthday... I can't believe it's been 3 months already, she's so big and strong and tall just like she should be. My baby has rolled over both ways and last night started to giggle at me when we were singing. She's so smart, she can figure out how to get her thumb in her mouth and grab a hold of her toys and find her toes and her hands. She can raise herself up when lying on her belly, support herself with her hands and look around and kick her feet up too ( a lot of adults can't do that) she can scoot herself about a foot forward when she's on her belly and about the same backward when on her back. She can grab her toys that are hanging and pull herself up to them (scared herself and me when doing that) and tries to put everything in her mouth.
She smiles at me when I get home at night and when we wake up in the morning. She's sleeping thru most nights (expect poopy week) and is starting to make raspberry's with her daddy. Shes sitting up in her bumpo seat and is strongly holding up her head.
She's taking a bottle and has even tried pedealite so we are on track with food too. We have more routine even when at home and at the sitters we are keeping on track with our timing. We seem to be on track with weight, and on the tall side so far. We are wearing 3 month outfits if they stretch, 3 to 6 if not. What a tall girl already.

One of the blogs I really like is Candid Carrie, and she wrote the most beautiful post today and it really does make you stop and appreciate women, old and young, and things that you remember hating and loving about yourself. I hope my girl loves her body when she gets older, I hope she appreciates everything that's going on in her world now and as she grows, I love watching it all happening.

It's funny, she mentioned adding lemon juice to her hair to lighten it, and when I was in high school I used to cut the grass in my bikini top, shorts and a GALLON OF CRANBERRY Juice in my hair to get it a beautiful reddish blond highlight... ya, bee stings suck...

Thoughts, ideas and questions...

I stop by my list of blogs and check in on ideas, crafts and just basic ramblings from other bloggers and moms all the time. I have been thinking we needed a new look for summer anyway so I did change things up a bit and added a new fresh look from LeeLou. Cute and I made a few edits to make it our style. Either or, I stopped in to check on Tree Fall, she normally has some really cute stuff going on and I had to agree with her post (linked below) regarding blogs and where I was really going with mine.
I think the Friday Foto is cute so I will keep doing that but the SITS Thing and all these other contests are taking away from me, my kid, my crafts and my blog. I started this blog as a link for Miss T to her past (when I make it a book) and for me to keep in touch with family, friends and have them all get the same information as if they were here. Cussing or not, nice or not, this is my life. I love sewing and normally take things into the office even for
opinions. So, lets go back to basics...

From the mind of Tree Fall Designs blog..

What makes you enjoy a particular blog (not just this one, any one that you read)?
I love Craft blogs, I am actually addicted to them. I check them out all the time and would love to have the time and creativity to do half the
things these people do.
What type of post is your favourite?

I do love fun stories about families, checking in on my friends and their kids and reading over how too's.
How important are the
photographs?
Photo's make the blog for me, if there are not enough, I get bored and stop reading them. It is wrong, I know but I am very visual and well, most of my people are too.
Does the design of the blog attract you or even stop you from reading it?

I have to admit, I love color but the design I had last was too much even for me. I just needed to find my style and still have some basic background.
Do you like blogs to be colloquial/regional or fairly generic?

I like fun blogs, with lots of pictures and goings on... I don't care about location or swearing and I know I have some on here but sometimes you just need it. Not the overkill but sometimes it makes the point.
An equal amount of craft and family,
or does too much of talking about the kids put you off?
No, it takes a lot to put me off, sports will do it quickly and too many videos that make my computer angry.
What else? What are the best words of advice you can give a blogger?

Tell me what's going on with you, the things you love and love to do. The things your kid is doing now and what makes you tick. What is your passion? I am sure there is something we have in common..
Thoughts people?? Tell me what you think?

Now, for an apology for my last few weeks. It's been crazy and my kid has been sick and I was feeling the pressure to keep up with this at the same time... Ignore the craziness and expect the norm coming back... And now to our regularly scheduled program...

I need help (Stop agreeing Kate!)

I am going to make Miss thing a blanket.. I love minky, it's one of my favorite fabric's... that super soft stuff that's on everything baby now. Ya, I make taggies out of it all the time and now I am going to make a blanket with that and the fabulous polka dot material I got that I have been saving. Ok, so here's the thing... I have all this material and want to know what goes and what does not. I am torn on the red, that's why it's on the back of the ugly sewing room couch. Here's my other dilemma, I really want to use the yellow but the polka dot color that semi matches it is a funky orange. I really want to use all the polka dot colors, but is it too much? Which is not working? The orange, the yellow or is it fine and I am over thinking it?

And now maybe a little bit of cute.. I tried this headband on miss T while she and daddy were trying to watch cartoons, and she spit up as I was taking the picture.. gross, eh? Cracked me up and surprising, she didn't seem to mind the headband but it did leave a bit of a mark so we won't be wearing it again.

Who's that girl? (FFF)

So last weekend we went to cousins birthday, uncle and grandparents birthday, 2 cousins graduation and Fathers day celebration.... all in one party, thankfully that did not have to be on the cake.
One cousin got a gag gift from his aunt and it ended up being the gag for miss T.

She loooks a little like Yosimity Sam! I do, I say I do say, she does! FFF= Friday Foto Fiesta!
If you wanna play, head on over to Candid Carrie and let her know

Perfect.........

So, daddy's sister came in town to surprise his/their mom for her birthday. It was so much fun on Fathers day to be around all the kids on their side and Miss T got to meet them all (even the Mean Aunt that would not speak to or look at either of us) and we had a good time. Daddy and his sis went out last night after work so she could do some networking and they could catch up. Not the best of nights for this, Miss T has had a bit of the stomach flu for most of the past weekend and was just getting back on her game. Tonight she finally had a normal night and after baths and dinner she was off to bed by 9. We woke at 1 to eat, which happens on occasion when the thumb is not cutting it. So up at 1 and she was not in the mood to go back down and so we were up and down for the next two hours and finally I gave in and let her sleep in bed with me around 3. Just then daddy gets home and so it's another round of trying to get everyone calmed back down and to sleep and needless to say we did not get back to bed until 4 after another feeding. It's been a tired night, we slept on daddy's side of the bed because I can sleep better holding her on my left side than on my right and that's how the bed worked out. I woke when the alarm (on my side of course) went off and tugged at daddy to snooze, he woke up, looked at me and started shifting the PILLOW. I said "What are you doing?" and then he started reaching around on the ground and then back up again, I said "turn off the alarm" he looked at me and started moving the pillow over again. I again said getting a little louder this time without trying to wake up anyone else in the middle of the bed "WHAT are you DOING!" he looked at me again and by this time I gave up, shoved his head into the pillow and reached over and snoozed the alarm. Back to sleep for my extra 5 minutes of lying there knowing the alarm was going to go off again, and it did and we went thru the SAME THING AGAIN! Ya, he was tired and it was his day to drop off at the sitter... that's not gonna happen is it?
Needless to say I was worried about even getting in the shower if she woke up but I skipped the shower yesterday because we were running late so I had to today. I jumped in the shower after putting the baby in her bed for the first time all morning. I knew she would wake up so I woke daddy and said "LISTEN FOR HER, TELL ME WHAT I JUST SAID" and he replied and said he would listen for her and I jumped in for a super quick shower.
Got out of the shower for a normal morning... I prepacked her bag the night before so he was ready in the morning, so that was good. I got dressed, teeth brushed, hair done as well as I could manage ( I am getting a trim next week) so after that I ran down to get the pump and supplies ready so I could go, I packed up everything in the little car (that smells like an ash tray right now) and went back inside knowing I was already pissed off for the day. I got everything else ready and got Miss T up for her 6 am feeding. Normal, consistent and then I was ready to go. She was awake so I decided that I would just get her dressed, cute purple dress with little panties with purple and white checks. Cute! White puffy socks from Aunt Rach and we were set, but the one sock kept falling off.. This won't do. I grabbed the baby and went in to get different socks, poor sitter can't deal with that all day on top of 5 kids. I walk in the nursery and grab a pair of white socks, as I grab the basket to look over the socks here it comes, something hits my foot. What was that?
Poop! Butterscotch Pudding Poop! Here it is, up the diaper, up the back, in the dress, across the pants, on my shirt, on my pants, in between my toes, in the BASKET OF SOCKS, and down across our light beige carpet.
PERFECT!
Yell for daddy to get in here we have a situation, get him to clean up the carpet as I change miss thing and wipe her down, leave her in the changing table in the pnp and I change myself, go in and wipe the poop from my feet and wash my hands. Go back in and grab her an outfit and pull the only clean pair of socks I could find out of the bin and then decided that I am just dropping her at the sitter and going to work.
Drop her at the sitter, stop at Starbucks for a Venti Ice Americana with 3 shots of non fat milk, the girl is so nice and sweet to me in the drive thru that I didn't expect her to mess up my entire drink order and give me what I am still thinking is day old bitter drip coffee. Oh well, it will at least work for now to keep me awake.
On my way into work I am listening to Bob and Tom (LOVE BOB and TOM and won't listen to them with the baby in the car) and they have this talk about this tattoo guy in Texas that did a world record number of Tattoo's and this fake Larry King Guy that is telling the story and then stops and says "Know where's the worst place to have a Tattoo?"
they all reply "where?"
then he says "On a Job Interview!"
I lost it, almost peed myself and was in tears laughing until I got to work.
I feel much better now!

The Decision has been made

Ok, so lets admit it, I cuss too much to be a parent. I know it and so do most people. I can admit that the F word is my most favorite word while driving. Yet, my love for it needs to go, I am too good a parent to have that kind of garbage coming out of my mouth. I do not want Miss T saying that when she's old enough to talk. I did hear the other morning on Z's moms station that there is a smurf movie coming out in 2009.. so any of you in my age range are going to know what I mean when I say I decided that I am now going to be smurfy when I start getting upset. I have decided that I will replace all bad words with Smurf..Smurfity Smurf Smurfn smurfer!
P.S Taryn rolled over the other way this weekend.. Fingers crossed we will have a video to follow soon!

Friday Foto Fiesta (Again)

This is just fun, and I love to take pictures so this is one of the ones I did for a contest at work last year, maybe the year before. I never did win but I love this picture and it reminds me of a really fun time that I had with the girls one weekend.

Now for the best Friday Foto of them all!! I took this shot, I met this man in San Francisco (no, there's no need to guess) he was super sweet to me and we talked for a while and he actually said "your taking pictures of flowers and houses when there is a man in a custom pink suit behind you!" so I had to take the picture. This is a perfectly made suit.

My mind is a mouse trap...

Somehow I actually function during the day. Have you ever had one of those days where one thing leads to another that gets you to a point that you have no idea how you got there? This is the way I figure it, my mind is a mouse trap, not the easy ones that you pull the lever back and it catches some poor mouse (that we once had in my house and freaked me out) but the complex kind that keeps your mind moving.
Example. I need to go to the store and I need deodorant, the last two clicks this morning were almost dry so there's no time to wait, I can use my travel ones but not for long. I also need to get things for the babysitter and fathers day before this weekend. I need birthday cards, fathers day cards, graduation cards for fifth and eighth graders. Sounds simple enough right? Sounds like a quick jump to the store then a while in the card isle but all done in a matter of an hour? No!
This is my life. I need to go to the store, I am thinking this Wednesday's night, it's after nine and the baby is already in bed. I will go tomorrow, now the plan. Well, big daddy is planning on hanging with his pals Friday night so I will need to go on Thursday. Ok, that shortens things a bit, leave work, pick up miss thing, come home she will need a nap, see the neighbors new hair cuts before they leave for the lake, get dinner made, feed baby, then go to store, come home, give baths, clean kitchen, get pump ready, do laundry, fold laundry, get burp cloths ready for sitter, find out what miss t is wearing tomorrow, do the same for me, and decided if I have time to get gas tonight or after drop off to the sitter... hmm, crappy gas station coffee on a hot Friday morning? Sure, why not. Now, I want coffee, did you know that Starbucks makes chocolates now? I have not tried them but I would like to, and I really can't have that much caffeine either while breastfeeding, too much caffeine is bad for both of us anyway. How do people drink so much tea and complain about coffee drinkers? How do people give up coffee for tea anyway and think it's close to the same thing. How did I go my whole pregnancy not wanting coffee? Oh, there's a starbucks in Target... I need deodorant.

Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta

Candid Carrie stared it and it seems everyones doin it.. So I will too.. I may change the picture when I get home to one of the new baby and his tupee but for now, I love this shot of me and Miss Sophia. This was last summer on the 4th and we were having so much fun on our girls only weekend even if we did go to a BBQ with boys. Sophie got her own blanket (that I made) with Polly Pocket on it, and new clothes from Hannah and Carly, and we went to the movies. Can't ask for more than that!

The Early Bird Gets......

So this morning, I am trying to get up and ready and realize, I don't have nearly enough hands. I had to look up who it is that has so many hands... some kind of goddess but I didn't know who she is and or what she does. Seems to be a pretty good gig she has going on just the same.

Her name is Durga, she is the Supreme Goddess of the Hindus. Fierce (like Tyra I am assuming) demon fighting (at the grocery store of course), embodiment of feminine creative energy.
Seems odd that she was given all these weapons, but I guess back in the olden days you needed a tiger, spear, flower, flute, arrows, and or whatever else she has/needs.

That is totally me!! If it were today, it would be:

my blow dryer & toothbrush

miss T in all her glory... Diapers, wipes, bags singing talking, toys, etc...

my sewing machine of course

I am sure I would need 2 hands to clean the dishes, pump parts, and bottles too.

then of course I would need at least one extra for my phone, texting and or getting my water.

  • wonder if I could keep the tiger?
