Recently we've been teething, not the easy teething that happens at 6 months, but the big bad teeth that come in on the sides and make your head hurt and make you pull your hands to your face, and tug your ears from the pain in your jaw. So, there are a few things that Miss T is eating these days, won't have chicken, won't have veggies, only eating some fruits. These are the favorite things and she does not want any of them. Hmmm.. I have to find something to keep her energy level up during all of this, don't take away the real food, but give her a few little things between meal times as "snacks" to keep her protein up, calcium is a must but she's getting that I am sure so, I do the horrible thing some parents do and give her flavored milk.
But I found this tonight:
INGREDIENTS
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- Place the first four ingredients in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Pour into glasses; sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Serve immediately.
Simple enough, I am sure. I am going to try this out. Way less sugar than the Nestle Banana milk. Did I mention she hates strawberry milk, and on occasion will drink the chocolate.
just a little something that we like, and can't seem to find.
