Jan 3rd... Something New....

This is the new year. I've reset my goals on 43 Things and I am ready to go! Reminders all the time (which may start to annoy me but that's kind of what I need!) so I am going to be all set.
Today, I made dinner. I mean like a real dinner, not just frozen pizza or pre-made mix together food. Don't get me wrong, this is not a full roast beef dinner, I just made Chicken and rice. BUT, this is the first time I've ever made Chicken and rice. Which may be a shock with all my mad cooking skills. (Ok, I admit, I have none) I can bake with the best of them but when it comes to cooking I am not in my A game. Part of what I am doing for 2010 is cooking dinner from scratch more.
Tomorrow is my first day back at work after what feels like a huge vacation. Part of me is ready, part of me is not. This is going to be a long week. More updates to come about that but lets start things slow... 5 am is going to be here too soon!

Oh how I hear ya. Today is my first day back too... I so could have used another week off.

I have decided to try one new recipe per week. Gotta keep things on track and healthy and we are getting in to a rut in the foods we are making. That chicken and rice sounds like a recipe I used to make a long time back! I will have to give that version a shot!

Yay, good for you for cooking dinner! Sometimes it's sooo exhausting... especially when you're just getting off work (and the commute for you), I've fallen in love w/my crock pot! Let me know if you want some recipes. This was my goal last year, so I have quite a few. Not saying I've tried them all... but I have a few favs :) But I will vouch for you, you can bake like a champ!!
