Welcome to the show me state...

For some reason, I have a feeling we are going to compete with the other MO people pulling that "show me state" bs.. so we are not going to talk about the arch

Branson (yes, this is real)6 flags (even if it is where I saw my first concert)Lets go to that down home feeling...
Drinkin orange soda, swinging....

roads that your dad always knew and you would just get so carsick - oh the hills are alive... ugggI mean really,, do you need a sign? (and does this one look upside down to you too?)Oh yes, the mailboxes are back.. this one I find interesting.. and had to drive by 3 times to get this shot... enjoy it!

Yes, people live here, they have a sign that they babysit.. I really want to go talk to them just so I can see the inside.. but I won't.. well, not right now

And last but not least... lawn art.. who has this kind of Land in San Fran to do something like this?? "Well Floyd, another tree died, guess we better go get a new lawn gnome"
Welcome bloggers from around the world.. Hope you enjoyed the Real MO.. :D

Too funny about that house, would love to know what it looks like on the inside...

Great pics! I agree that sign is upside down and I would totally stop to ask about babysitting. Missouri looks like fun! I grew up in Kansas City and I never really ventured far into it. Went down to the Lake of the Ozarks a couple of times, it was so beautirul. I might have to get back so I can do some exploring!

You'll have to post about it if you ever get to see the inside of that house!
Great post...enjoy your BATW day!! :)

Hi from Florida, we have lawn gnomes and pink flamingos...I don't understand the crazy lawn decorations some people have. Great post!

Hello from Louisiana. Visting from BATW. This is so great, traveling around the world thru our computers. Thanks for hosting :)

Missouri looks a lot like Upstate SC, minus the dome house. Ours would be a dome double wide. :)

Thanks for sharing your neck of the woods!

I love garden gnomes :) My grandparents live in MO. Your post is bringing back memories of visiting them when I was a kid :)

We have a dome house near here and I've always wanted to see the inside, too. Thanks for the hospitality!

just think - you've given the Gnomes the opportunity to Blog Around the World too! Awesome! Thanks for sharing all the funny facts about your home. It's been a wonderful visit - hope to come back soon!

Love your keepin' it real post!! I think the backside of everything is my favorite part - the front is pretty and all but the backside is where you really get the feel for the place! Now if you've been drinking this comment will take on a whole new meaning. ;-) Congrats on your feature today in BATW! Love your blog and will be back!!

that was a fun tri[ through missouri. it brought back many a memory for me. i spent some time in branson, willard and nevada...i wish that you could have taken pictures later this fall...living in colorado, we just don't get the vividness of the fall colors that you do down south....plus, it is the only place that i've actually seen people with leaf fires in their yards(you would never do that here)...missouri is a beautiful state (if a bit humid...and with chiggers...and ticks)
the winding roads always did it for me (as one being prone to car-sickness myself)

Greetings from Texas and BATW! Now, that was good, old hippie tour and I loved it - thank you!

Thanks for the welcome to down-home Missouri! Of course, we always called it "Misery" growing up...what can I say, I'm from Kansas.

When I was in school in Columbia, back When the World Was Very Young, Branson was just a spot in the road in the Ozarks. I can't believe how it's grown since then! Do you ever go to Hill Day in St. Louis? My roomies and I used to do that. We'd also volunteer to sandbag the levees in St. Charles (one of my roomies was from there) whenever it rained a lot and there was the threat of flooding. I thought of y'all earlier this summer when you were having all that rain--hope you came thru OK! Isn't this blog-hopping fun?

Branson... that's just a whole place unto itself, don't you think?

I completely concur that that sign is upside down... why don't sign people see that???

Thanks for the lighter side of MO!!!!

I love how you decided to show us your state! I would love to live somewhere that looked like that. For now I'll have to take sand and plam trees (seriously, I prefer grass and lawn art!).

What a great post! I love the pics! I've seen so many interesting mailboxes myself it's rediculous. I pass by one every day going to work that is a huge fish. One of these days I'm going to get a pic of it myself! And that dome house....wow! Yea, I'd like to see the inside of that too!

Thanks for the tour. Looks much prettier than what I have seen from the Interstate. Actually I did not see much from the Interstate because I was too busy watching signs to be sure I stayed where I was suppose to be. Especially through St. Louis.
Beautiful State and enjoyed seeing it from your prespective.

A state with an Arch, domed house, non rectangular mail boxes and lawn gnomes. How FUN!

And yes that sign does look upside down.

Thanks for sharing.

I long for a mail box outside my house - loved the one in your post. We live in "rural" New Zealand which in truth is only 8km from the nearest town where I have to get my mail.

Loved your tour post and blog!

Hey neighbor, found you on "Blogs around the World" so I thought I'd stop in and say hi. I too live in Missouri - Warrensburg - Home of the UCM Mules, and where the saying "Man's Best Friend is His Dog Came From" and the music group called The Pussycat Dolls has a member that came from our town. Well now I'm rambling. Just wanted to stop in and say Howdy.
