I feel whitty... oh so whitty...

Where to begin...
Mothers Day.. My first, I wanted breakfast in bed. Something simple, eggs? Cereal? bagel? Nothing big or spectacular. We didn't do breakfast, I did get two cute cards, one from Miss T and one from Big Daddy.. Bob's card was really funny.. I cracked up.
On the outside it has a chicken with really long legs and says "A Mothers Day Riddle" and the Chicken says "Why did the mom cross the road?"
Inside it says "No one could tell, really. She was mumbling something to herself about peace and quiet. She circled the block a couple of times and came back a lot happier"
Hmmm??? I don't get it... HA!!
So, for dinner... Bob went and got 2 steaks, and 4 Russian King Crab legs and grilled them up with veggies, yellow tomato, asparagus, and two kinds of mushrooms. Also, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and pears, and cheesecake lolly pops (good but not worth the price next time), two different B&J ice creams, and a cookie cake from Dierbers. Aww, romance with a baby monitor in the center of the table. Who needs candles? Taryn of course is a fan of the romance too, she didn't want to miss it, she was happy for all of 45 seconds.
We are slowly surviving the sugar coma! Kidding, it's been a few days and thankfully most of it is still around. I gave the neighbors most of the cookie cake.. No thanks to Rebekah and Aiden..they didn't even make a dent!
We may have talked daddy into that the day before with our new outfit. We are not sure it made an impact on him, he only took four THOUSAND pictures while she had it on!

Well, we had our two month Dr. visit and little Miss is on the map. She's almost 12 lbs already. I can't believe it but I will have guns like RB by the time she's six months like Aiden.. Ya baby!
All went well with the shots and confirming we have the Thrush, ugg. Not so fun and we got meds and thankfully early on. Dr said its slight but no need to not take the meds, they will help. I need to get some yogurt too so I can keep fighting this thing with help from the natural resources we have everyday.
Taryn had her first bottle, did I say that before? Well, I can't pump for a few days, they said wait 4 to 5 days from the LLL. I figure it's a good idea and we have so much frozen it's not a bad idea to dip into our month 1 supply anyway if needed. I got a sterilizer from Target.com Thanks Grannie Sandy and Auntie Katie for the gift cards... Came in handy. I am for sure a fan to sterilize everything going forward and it was worth the money in the end, we are going to try to stay with the BF as long as we can. Our little moose seems to be doing quite well with it so far.
I loaded some pictures on the Flickr site too, I know, I know I need to go Pro on there so I can do more with it but I just have not gotten around to doing it yet. Bla bla Bla..
Cell phone photos of the week!
So, I put on my same brown Born's that I have been wearing from October and went for a walk with Rebekah, (her idea so she could have some cookie and not feel bad about it) and got the hugest blister of my life.. Yes, it's gross but I am going to show you just because, well 1. its my blog and I can do what I want to and 2 because Tracey said she's never heard of anyone getting a blister in the center of their foot before. Good enough reasons.. if not skip over the next ones are pretty good.

I went to Walgreen's because someone needed her own items for around the house. Taryn needed her own head and shoulders because her scalp is still so dry and peeling. (Not sure if she would rather get that or the jeep from her dad! HA, don't tell him I said that, if he reads it well, we are all in trouble) but while there I got the BIGGEST thing of Smarties in the whole WORLD! Angie just ruined her keyboard drooling over this!

Stef and Adam are going to be so proud, Taryn is wearing her tye dye that they got her. Cute little hippie sleeping. Surprised it didn't' come with a beer and a dead cd... kidding

Here's the two hippies together. Ok, please look at that kids face. I LOVE THAT SAD POUT. It's going to get her a lot if not most of what she wants from her father for most of her life but it's cute and not such a bad thing now.

That's about it from here, I can't think of much else that's going on. This weekend is brunch with Bob's mom and sisters, I am bringing Miss Thing because none of them have seen her yet, so she will wow them with her cuteness of course. More to come. P.S. don't forget to look at the flickr shots and there will be a post soon for people to post comments to Taryn, I want to get a few in from people for her book. Take your time, think of something brilliant and funny.

Quiet around here...

So we've been home for a week now (and a day) and it's been really quiet, not a lot of phone calls and not a lot of guests. I am surprised, we have only heard from a few of the siblings on each of our sides and few visitors. I guess everyone's giving us time to get in a groove but it's been so quiet and maybe I am just pushy.
All in all things are good, I need to load the photo site in the blog so we can load up more pictures. Grandma Sandy came over today and made us dinner, pasta with olive oil and fresh squash, sun dried tomatoes and carrots. It was really good and healthy, she also got an apple tart from Trader Joe's' and it was really really good too! It was a nice visit over all and we got to spend some quality time with Grandma Sandy which is always nice and she's always on the run. I am so glad she got out here and Taryn is too, she is actually almost as big as Grandma Sandy and Grandma Sally already. Should not be too long before she does pass them up.
We are going to do a test run tomorrow to see if I can handle going to the Dr with Taryn on Monday. I will carry the car seat to the car with Taryn in it and hook her in and drive (from here to the Dr's office) or wherever and check on the drive and how I do with the belly and all lifting and moving on our own so Bob won't worry so much on Monday when he has to work.
Hope all is well with everyone, we had a pretty long night last night but today was a good day and we were all bright eyed for a lot of the afternoon. Hope this helps with sleep tonight and we can all get a little rest, even if mommy wakes up every hour to make sure things are going well.

We are getting there..Here's a few cute pictures from Grandma Sally's visit last week.

Crazy?

We go home tomorrow, I am ready but I am also really happy that we got as much time at the hospital as we did. I had a slight melt down tonight and a little one this morning so I am assuming the baby blues have kicked in. I know this is all normal but man, what a horrible thing to happen, I am not sure why your body/mind does this when you need it most but thankfully Bob is very supportive and understanding that this is not my normal mind and or thought process.
We are at a learning hospital so there are times when students are walking around interacting with patients and say things even when they don't know what is true or even correct. This is and can make things harder for someone thinking that they are speaking to a Dr and the information is accurate. This is even harder when a student comes in at 9 a.m. and tells you that this is the day you are going home, even if you have not met with your Dr, they have no idea who your Dr is and other than giving birth, knowing your situation or charting. I.E. breakdown #1 this morning. I was also having a hard time this evening when we had to get things ready to go home, we had two new nurses that I had not met before and neither were big talkers, ok neither of them spoke period. So far, I have really fallen in love with the staff of nurses here, they are all very sweet, understanding and have been attentive to both myself and Taryn. It was hard for me to get ready to go, get all of the paperwork ready, try to get myself in the shower and feel supported to get myself ready and help getting myself back in order from someone that would come in, write down information then leave, not from this department. Normally, no I would not care but being somewhat independent, it's really hard to depend on someone else, someone that you don't know and with your most intimate details of your life and body when they are, well, lets just say not at your best. (Breakdown #2) but this is where Bob comes in and saves the day. I am planning a shower in the morning now and we got everything else done that we needed to do. I feel better, and we got new nurses at 11, the one is new but very sweet, the PCA person never answered her phone, but I called the nurse and she came to aid with what I needed. I am still a little weepy but know I am ok, we are ok and yes I will feel better if I cry. Thankfully, I will be home for the next few days so I won't be some mad woman at Babies R Us again when the tears kick in like when I was pregnant.
The good news is, the crazy is not all tears, I have had these laughing attacks too that are actually pretty funny, seems as if the crazy is not bias to any one thing. All in all, I really do feel good and have for the most part loved every moment after having her. Its crazy but it's really true that you do forget the pain and hard time I was having pregnant and it was all worth it. It's not easy to hear at the time and never helped but once it came down to it and it really happened, it was all worth it. She's worth it.
So, how I feel:
My back hurts where I got my Epi and there was a spot that started hurting when I got it, or was getting it that was on my tailbone and that spot hurts too. My feet are swollen, I thought the insides of my ankles swelling a bit was bad when I was pregnant but this is insane swelling, the tops of my feet and toes all the way to my thighs are swollen, it goes down during the day but I wake up to it every morning and the Dr's say it will last up to 10 days. I can deal with that as long as it does go away. My headache is off and on but keeps me from sleeping as much as my hormones, so that's not helping, it will be nice to be in my own bed with my own pillows and get some sleep soon. Even if I do have someone getting me the good crushed ice and water when needed, he's coming with me anyway (:D) so that's ok with me. My incision is still covered with my binding and that's hurting a little but I am thankful that I have been good about working out so I know that next day burn is part of what happens when your body goes thru a lot. I know that my muscles have been thru a lot, pulling and stretching more than they ever have but they are working themselves into a good place and the meds are helping. It's really strange looking at my belly now, it looks better, not as big but shes not there anymore and it still has a lot of it's same form. I have no idea why I expected it to just droop and sag, crazy? Who knows. My milk is coming in so now I have a new change and pain. Nothing I have ever had to deal with in my lifetime and something I can't wait to end. Just one more joke of pregnancy and wanting to sleep on your stomach. In the end I can't say I feel bad, I don't. I feel really good and honestly at this time, I feel accomplished, my daughter is feeding well and taking to her feedings like a champ, we are learning this process well and keeping Bob involved in feedings, he's been great about staying involved even if he can't be the one to feed her and he's got a good job of burp duty and helping change sides. It makes me feel better that he is involved in the process, it's good bonding for he and Taryn too.
That's all for now. More news from the home front once we get settled in. Who knows, there could be a fashion show soon as Taryn is wearing things that don't have feet on them :D

Week three at home starting alone..

We are past almost there.. I waited for the DR to all on Friday with no luck. So, I get to call the office tomorrow and I am already not happy about having to deal with his office staff to get a hold of him ever. I expect tomorrow will be better but he and I will have a talk if it's not I am almost sick of the dealings with some of the people and other Dr's in that office.
Well, all of you that wanted a St. Patty's day baby better start praying and or doing you thang to get her here.
Mom came over on Friday and we went to Ruby Tuesdays, it was good. We both got the salad bar and got one half order of Mini Turkey Burgers, with 2 sides, one baby portobello mushrooms and one broccoli. No matter what I get there, it's always too much food. Still, it was really good.
We went to the grocery store after then came back here and cleaned up my sewing room, which was a God sent, I was so overwhelmed with that room I didn't know where to start to get it cleaned up. So, 2 things 1. I am going to post pictures of the baby's room and 2 pictures of my recent work.

The Bedroom pictures will be in another blog either above or below this one. The first picture is the closet with 5 containers of fabric in there, YIKES! One container is Bob's fault because when I made his hoodie, I bought fleece, thinking that's what he wanted, so I have the yardage to make a hoodie but he wanted some hippie hoodie.. I plan to make my mom sweat pants with the leftovers, I just have not gotten there yet. I have one more container than needs to make it's way in the closet but I have to figure out where. There is a ton of coats and jackets in there and this is the closet where we keep our sheets and pillows so it's pretty full, soft but full!

I made this blanket and burp cloth from some scrap I spent about $1.50 on and the cotton filling inside was probably about a buck too.. so, cute and about $2.50 without labor. Bob says he likes it and it's very spring/Eastery.
The Burps below are so cute, Baseballs, I did a red stitching that is a baseball stitch (kind of) it's for Stef and Adam's soon to be little one. I am kind of disappointed that I didn't get enough pictures of the ones I made as gifts for my neighbors new nephew, they left town already but for some stupid reason I didn't take pictures of all of what I made. I have no idea where my brain is these days.

P.S. Kate, yours is almost done, it's the edging that needs to be completed, I may finish it tomorrow if I get the chance. (It's still out and on the couch)

I am trying not to start on anything big/new or time consuming because this is our spare bedroom and I need to make sure there is room if someone is going to actually sleep in here after she's born. Not the baby, my mother or Bob's sister, or Step Mom.

P.S.S. Can we maybe get some role call in here, I would like to know who's out there reading... Sure would like to know if some people in San Fran have addresses yet, any New Yorkers are around and if they feel any better, any friends either at work or beyond are checking in even if I didn't call Arica back yet (gulp) and Melissa called the hospital today because I didn't call her back while I was in the shower... Someones going to need to get me a medic alert bracelet.. I've showered and have not had a baby yet, maybe a clapper, or one of those police collars for at the hospital arrest. You can e-mail if you don't want to leave a comment... Those that have left comments with names or at least something that distinguishes them from others, I know your there and thanks, lots of love and hugs from here, I really appreciate the support!

Week 40

Went to the Dr. yesterday and still effaced to 70/ 75% and only dilated to 1. Uggg! He says the same thing he always says, "there may be a little bleeding but it's time to get ready, we just need to get there". He gives me a high five for having contractions that wake me most of the night before but still no change. "This is typical in first time mom's, it's hard and I know your are hurting but we'll bet there, this is all normal".
I'm a wreck, most days, at least last week I was, I feel a bit better more centered this week. . Some are better than others but it all just sucks, and I have such a small support system right now that I really don't know who to talk to most days. I don't have the work moms that I could usually talk to about how crappy things are going for all of us then feel better, laugh a little and move on. I have Emilie, don't get me wrong, and I would not live without her at this point in time, she's really there for me and texting gets me thru the day when things are too busy and she can't talk. Melissa is having a really super shitty time right now and I wish I could be there more for her, thats really hard on me, this is the furthest we have ever lived from each other. She's a trooper though and will call me with her shitty news to make me feel better. Crazy, she's such a nut.
I still give, I still can't take it and now I get nightmares, remembering my dad. I keep having this dream about him going to my Godparents house to play cards and I am across the street, yet he never sees me. Uggg again, whatever. Frank gave me a box that has been in his basement for as long as I have been here. A lot of it was cards from when I was born, and there seemed to be a lot of support in those cards, nice to know the people that were around my parents back then. The cards are cute, very 70's of course really big eyes on the girls on the cards. Lots of encouragement and hope for a girl. Seems we get to know these things so much faster these days, I wonder what would have changed if there would have been that technology back then.
In other Frank news:
So, I made this bag, it's funny as hell, made from leftover ties that I made Abbie and Maxine skirts that were Franks. The skirts are really cute, I am not so sure about the purse/bag. I need to get some pictures of the curtains out here, don't I . Let me do that no I made this crazy looking bag/purse, did I mention the purse before? The purse is ok, but very Dr. Seuss, it leans a lot because the thin part (behind the neck) is always in the same place so it's really thin there, I didn't think about that part but all in all for scrap, it's cute, different? Here are the curtains, I worked on them most of the weekend., and thankfully I got skills from my pop and we had to work with what we could get. WE loved the material but it was not enough, or so we thought, I honestly had less than an inch strip of scrap when I was done. Measure 45,000 times , cut once!

I made some burp cloths too, and a bib. I know I mentioned those before, but here are some photos' of what I did. Simple, cute, I really like the look of them. Some were gifts so if there is a chance that one is for you (close your eyes) don't look!

It's not over, till it's over.. and it's not over :(

Starting week 2 at home. Not so much fun but I did get a lot of sit down boring stuff done. I still am not my chipper self, not so much fun but there is no one here to talk to yet. Dr appointment in the am so we will all cross our fingers, toes and pray A LOT! We (this we) is also going to have a nice chat with the Super Doc and discuss timing and dates.
In other news, there is no other news, my life is pretty boring. I did make curtains this weekend that even Charlie himself would be proud of. A few burp cloths and a bib too. I'll try to toss some pictures out here tonight if I can. I am not even sure if I am sleeping well these days. I slept from around 1:30 to almost 4 and got up and started a load of laundry, and picked up in the bedroom. I woke or thought I woke bob at 5 but he said he was awake even if he did fall asleep on the couch to get some real shut eye. Finished a few loads of laundry, picked up and seem to have a stack of parents, parenting, and pregnancy magazines. Anyone want them? They are good, already read here so I would hate to toss them in the recycle bin. I wrapped a few gifts for babies that are here and soon to be here. I need to call Patti and have her come out one day this week to help start on Adam and Stef's comforter. I need to open a new baby bank account and I think I am going to turn in my old savings bonds for new once as soon as she's born. It's time to pass down the torch. Betty did give me silver dollars too but I have no idea what ever happened to those.
I need to go to world market on my way home from the Dr tomorrow to see if I can find one more "hamper" I filled the one with blankets and not a single one that I made either. I did toss a few toys in the bottom of it but just because I have no idea where else to put things at this point in time, she's not going to play with any of them yet.
Sigh, we are getting there... When is she gonna get here?

No change Today

Went to the Dr today, no change.. Nothing new and sigh, we just wait some more. Cried on the phone to Bob in the car when I left, still sitting in the parking lot. I am sure he's wondering if he married a water fountain. Drove around for a bit and ended up at Denny's for lunch, it was good the waiter was sweet to me and really made me feel better, just not knowing and not asking anything helped. I can't say one more time that she's not here yet and I am waiting at home, using up my time feeling like I did something wrong.
After lunch I went to Kangaroo Kids to get nursing bra's and tops, the people there are so nice. The lady that was working had her son in, I am guessing he's 3 or 4 and thinks he's spider man until you say that to him then he's not anymore! I got this super cute onsie for the baby that is a massage onsie, and tells you where to massage for what reasons. I got a 0-3 months, and am sure I will get larger sizes if this one works out well. They said they get them in on occasion and it's cute.
I went to Hancock Fabric on my way out the door from Kangaroo Kids and they are not worth linking in here. That store is horrible, I am so disappointed with their designs, the service and the prices are horrible. I need to remember this before I go back in there, I can't even stand the sight of it now.
After that I went to my pregnancy massage at Ginger Bay Salon, and it was nice but I must admit my disappointment. There is one thing that pregnant women want to do and should be able to do when getting a massage ($75 massage) lay on your belly. Nope, they don't have that table and with the way my back hurt that didn't help. All in all the girl was good, she looked pregnant but I was afraid to ask if she was only because she may not have been and then where am I? Either or, it was nice, not the best, they have separate locker rooms but shared area to wait on your person. They had trail mix and teas while you wait and that was nice but I was not hungry for anything just drank a lot of water.
Left there and went to the grocery store for oranges then came home. I am now very tired and my body aches worse than this morning. I am emotionally drained and hope I sleep well tonight, I have had come crazy dreams these past few nights.
I feel like I am missing out on whats going on with everyone but I don't have the energy to hear anyone say anything that I am going to hear wrong, cuz really, when you feel like this, the last thing you want to hear is "God, you have not had that baby yet?", my favorite from my neighbor is "She won't be here until after the 17th and will weigh at least x lbs", "You should just wait till XX Date", "Are you having sex?", "drinking water?", "You should go for a long walk" (cuz my back feels great when I walk), and my personal favorite "Well what are you doing to go into labor?"

Sigh, No change today...

Rest and Relax? (yea, right)

Went to the Dr yesterday, my back is killing me and I can't walk well. He said she's on my sciatica and there is little we can do that we are not already and it's time for rest before she gets here. No more work :( I am so torn on what this means, I cried, I need the break, my body needs the break but I don't want to be home alone! This starts my 12 weeks of time off, I am not happy about that.
Well, we are getting closer, 2 weeks and counting. Doc said he does not want to induce wit the first baby, it's too soon, we will check again closer to due date and if we must then it will be a different story then but for now it's best for her to come when she's ready.
I guess I will know better how I feel about it after a few days of rest.

In Other news, Stacey had her baby girl at 33 weeks, they are at St. Johns and seem to be holding up well in the NICU. WE are all just waiting and praying now. Melissa is throwing a shower for her Friday night and baby will be in the hospital until at lease her original due date.

That's all for now. Send me an e-mail at home if you want, or leave a comment here. :D

Where has the time gone?

Wow, we are almost at full term! This is crazy! I am so ready and yet not ready at all. My body is hurting and huge and swelling some days and not so limber anymore, my mind is restless, and excited and scared and my hear is just open and ready! I spoke to a friend of mine the other day that explained the people that really love you and want to come help will come and help with the things around the house so you can spend more time with the baby. I like this idea and think its great that theres help around the house and the allowed time for me to bond these first few weeks. Everyone seems to make this about them right now, when do they get to hold the baby and when do they get to do this with the baby. Grandma Sandy seems to have the same ideals, help the mom bond and then spend quality time with the baby later. It's just nice to hear that once she's here I don't come in last.
So, I went to Target today and got the changing table. It's not bad, it will come in handy and then it will go in the closet to double as a "dresser" as needed to hold socks and other small items. I have to admit, I am fed up with target and the attitude of the employees out here, it's hard to go to this Target, and try to support our local schools and taxes when the people working there have such a poor attitude about what pays their checks. I have a feeling I may end up doing to the one a few miles away and they are smarter about making sure they understand customer service. Just a vent...
I know I have no entered a post about the girls shower yet, I am disappointed in myself for not doing it yet. I got such cute stuff and I need to take some pictures and the ROOM IS DONE!! Ok, painted, not done, because I am sitting in the center of it typing this now, but the paint is done and the bed is in, I need to wash the bedding but Bob was so sweet to put it on the bed to show me when I got up what it looked like all set up. Yes, I know What the hell and where are the pictures, (oh I can feel Peggy giving me the eye!) I got almost all the clothes washed, and the bedding set goes in tomorrow.
**Need help alert**
How much clothes does a newborn need? How many outfits, sleepers etc does a baby need from 0 to 3 months?
I am wondering if I have what I need, I think we are good unless theres a big gallery opening or award show coming up. We have a lot of sleepers, not a lot of outfits, we have tons of summer clothes that range in size perfectly to 6 to 9 months, so I hope she does not plan on growing too fast there are some really cute ones that we need to try out!

Reason for no shower blog yet, Hospital Visit #2:
Captains log:
The night shift at the "WE-U"(Womens Evaluation Unit) is so much nicer than the day crew. Not so happy that they had the teaching staff on and they don't ASK if you want the learning nurses in but oh well. The Male Midwife was a jerk but whatever, I will just ask for him to be replaced if he comes in again. There is no need to be tested when your having contractions and as soon as he understands that the better.
Either or, so the story goes:
Got up at normal time and got ready, got in the car and noticed about 5 to 10 minutes into the drive that my stomach was really hard, hmm... odd. So, I look at the clock and then I start to wonder, is this a contraction? I wait, 5 minutes exactly later (6:27) tightens up again, this happens every 5 minutes for the next 3 hours, all exactly 5 minutes apart, not strong, not hard but consistent. I am drinking TONS of water (2 32 oz cups, is a lot from the time I got to work) so finally I give in, we call the Dr.'s office and they don't answer their phone till after 9 ( I am getting really frustrated with this office) so we are physically standing at the counter of the WE-U waiting for the nurse to say if I should come in the office or go to (stay at) the WE-U. She says "go" to the WE-U and so we stay, get settled in and bob is already on the phone with the insurance company again and the car dealer ship to see when we finally get our car back. With that settled, they hook me up to the monitors and we wait. Somehow Bob go the remote so we get to watch 5 to 8 seconds of every channel the hospital has for around 45 minutes. Around 10:30 or 10:45 they say my contractions are not strong enough and I am not dilated far enough and send me home for bed rest and humility. Oh well, I knew it was not TIME but when things are not right, you gotta get it all checked out. So, the next morning I wake up for work (yes smart asses it's close enough to 24 hours) I get up and get in the shower, start getting ready and things seem odd. I can breathe a bit better, I can reach in some ways better and in others not so well at all, getting in the car is a lot harder (and driving is not so easy) but I feel better, must be the oxygen, who knows, but I dropped and in grosser news (anyone that can't take it skip this next part) lost my plug. Not a big big deal but when I called the Dr.s' office this time they seemed more I hate to say excited but active to my call and what was going on. All they told me is the next step is labor and start watching. Lindsey (3 weeks behind me) told me she dropped a few weeks ago and it's no sign for her. Well, we've waited this long, lets keep going.
Alright, these ramblings have gone on long enough. I h ave a Dr appt tomorrow then off to Melissa's and back before Bob notices. He's very concerned with me going into labor these days, he even got me a "sitter" for when he goes out next weekend, too bad I can't enjoy staying up late!

Ouch then Ouch

We were on our way home yesterday from work and I got a present from Bob's sister was looking at a frog onsie, Bob started cussing and then BAM! we got sideswiped by some highschool kid. He hit us on the driver (Bob's) side and took a big chunk out of our tire and really some scratches on the side of the car, but didn't do too much other damage but he threw us into the curb and another gash out of the passenger side front tire.
I was scared but Bob did a great job because he could have hit us head on.We called the police and while waiting I was shaken up and my stomach and back were hurting so we called my Dr to see what we should do next. Thankfully it was only 4:20 so they were still in the office and told us not to go to the ER but go to the Womens Evaluation Unit at the hospital we are delivering, not too far down the road but with the highway closed and the main road backed up it took 20 minutes to get a mile and a half there.
Once inside we went to the second floor (which is where we will go when labor starts too) and signed in and were taken to a room right away. I had to get undressed and attached to a fetal monitor and get all of my information together. The nurse was so fast to come in I was not even undressed yet when she came in. They were so nice. We got all attached, answered about 20 minutes of questions, she said the baby looked good and she would be back in 20 minutes or so to check back in. Bob's back started to hurt so he ran to the gift shop (that ended up taking him across the hospital to the pharmacy in the Dr.s Building) to get himself some advil-ish stuff to help. As this was all happening the temp outside was dropping from 40 to 30 to 20 to somewhere in the teens.
Bob came back in just in time to meet our midwife Julie, who was very nice and helpful and explained to me that I was having contractions and while monitoring they were going to give me a shot (something that starts with a T) and a pill (can't remember that one) to get them to stop. 33 weeks and 4 days is just too early. So, she said it was going to make me a bit jumpy and I could either get something from the cafeteria or she could grab me a turkey sandwich and some apple juice. I was fine with turkey, I really was not very hungry at this time anyway. She brought me a little turkey sandwich, 2 apple juices (2 oz each) a tropical fruit cup, a cranberry oatmeal cookie and a chocolate pudding cup. So, I ate the turkey and had one of the juice and then they gave me the shot, (which burnt like hell!) and the pill, and within about 30 seconds my hands started shaking and we were in for the long haul to wait for these things to end. I was not feeling what I thought contractions were or have felt like, just a bit of pain here and there but those beds are not comfortable at all. We had a good time listening to the baby for the next (yes you guessed it) 5 hours! She was up and down and loved the juice and random conversation while we waited, called the nurses station so they could unplug me to pee, the call them again so they could hook me back up again. It was funny that we didn't really even watch cable, we watched the biggest loser, well I watched and Bob made fun just like at home and the nurse Katie was so sweet that she even brought him a more comfortable chair for his back. So, the Dr on duty was super busy and we ended up having to wait to leave not the normal 4 hours but 5 because they could not get him out of delivery to check in for long enough. All is well in the world and we were on our way, I even got to walk out of the hospital. Bob got the car that we were driving slow until we could get the tires fixed and in 12 degrees we were on our way home. I was told it would be best for me to stay home and on bed rest (left side all that) to monitor if I was having any more contractions and if so monitor and if there were more than 6 in an hour we were to head back in. I called my Dr the next morning to check in and make sure they were aware and they stated it would be better if they were strong contractions to go back in if I had 4 or more in an hour.
Well my 24 hours is over and I had a few but not enough for a trip back in, thankfully. Back to work tomorrow, and all should be normal once more. We got a rental car and bob yelled enough that we got the equivalent of our car, we got an Equinox that has all wheel drive so we are ready if and when the snow hits tomorrow. I am hoping it does not, we have a parenting class tomorrow night, that I would like to not reschedule. We have the car at the dealership and Bob was a champ, handled everything including the horrible service at State Farm.

Week ten and the sickness begins...

Well, mom said she didn't ever have morning sickness. Well, I do, kind of. I am so super blahhhh and have not really wanted anything to eat but noodles with butter on them . Tonight I had regular sauce and it was alright but I still am not at my best. I can't get over the tired and I can't sleep a whole night, I guess this is over forever. I did get most of my sleep in my youth.. I really did take advantage of those days too, I am glad, and I have no regrets.
I have my second ultrasound on the 27th. This will tell me everything is going well going into week 12. The week after is the Dr appt., the long one where we go over all the do and don't items.
I am about to splurge on a new boo, Baby Bargains. My friend Kate said that she would have sent mer her copy but she just lent it to someone else, it's not too easy for e her to get it here anyway because she's half way across the country. So, that is on my list of things to get soon. I know it will come in handy, I have seen some of the older editions and they are really up to date on their stuff.

Erin had her baby. Issac Matthew, he's co cute. I should have a picture of him up here soon, I just need her ok to post him. I would hate to infringe on any contracts he has pending. :) hee hee.

Week 9 almost over -

No new pictures this week. Things have been slow and tired. I can't wait till I have energy back so I can get things done. Bob moved the treadmill in the basement so I can start working out at home when I have the energy. Things have been good. Next appt's are the 27th for US and Sept 4th in the morning for the "long visit" at the OB.
Bob took pictures with him camping so I am glad he's been more excited about this.

Week 8 almost over --

Went to get my ultrasound today. Found out I have a small cyst on my right ovary. Not so sure what that means now but I am seeing the Dr tomorrow so he will tell us more. But I do have our babies first pictures!!!
So the first picture is the little card they gave me to put the pictures in, it's so cute.
the second is the not the first pictures but the second actually but i reversed them when adding them in. So the top pictures is the Ring (that is the yolk sac, going away slowly. The lady that did the US called it a halo it was very cute. She was so nice.
The Second picture was actually the first she took. As you can see it's a babies first picture. I'm thinking he already! His heartbeat was 171 bpm. Thats too fast for a girl. Not that a girl would be bad either but who would cut the grass with bob?
About me? I am feeling ok, sleeping a LOT! not really sick yet all in all, doing really well.

Week 7 Bla's

I was too tired to type during week 6. I came home every night and went to bed, I really can't believe how tired I am right now. I had not been sick up until this weekend. I had a huge case of the bla's and slept most of the weekend away. I hope this week gets better. I really am not ready to tell people yet. I have one more week until I go to the Dr and as long as he's ok with everything we will start talking aobut it. If not, we wait a few more weeks.
More to come...

Welcome Week 5

Today is the mid day change from week 4 to week 5 somehow... on the website it changed mid day so ok, I will take that. I got the flu (which is flu and which is cold?) with fever, chills and body aches. Was not a happy day yesterday. I was crying to the woman on the exchange (I hope she didn't notice) and waiting for the Dr. on call to call back and tell me what to do. I took one tylonal and waited.
Dr. called and said it's normal for women to get a cold while pregnant and it happens all the time. Take some tylonal, regular strength and tylonal p.m. if I had it to help me sleep. He also said I could take benedryl if I needed it and was congested. So, I took my second pill and lye there watching bad tv waiting crying because he said everything would be all right and I was worried. Happy, no longer scared, now I could take care of me so I can take care of you. Whew...
Daddy brought me Taco Bell because I wanted something to eat but didn't want pork. I got a chicken something small.. it was not bad.. filled me up just right.
I feel better, We feel better and now on to happier days.
