Ouch then Ouch

We were on our way home yesterday from work and I got a present from Bob's sister was looking at a frog onsie, Bob started cussing and then BAM! we got sideswiped by some highschool kid. He hit us on the driver (Bob's) side and took a big chunk out of our tire and really some scratches on the side of the car, but didn't do too much other damage but he threw us into the curb and another gash out of the passenger side front tire.
I was scared but Bob did a great job because he could have hit us head on.We called the police and while waiting I was shaken up and my stomach and back were hurting so we called my Dr to see what we should do next. Thankfully it was only 4:20 so they were still in the office and told us not to go to the ER but go to the Womens Evaluation Unit at the hospital we are delivering, not too far down the road but with the highway closed and the main road backed up it took 20 minutes to get a mile and a half there.
Once inside we went to the second floor (which is where we will go when labor starts too) and signed in and were taken to a room right away. I had to get undressed and attached to a fetal monitor and get all of my information together. The nurse was so fast to come in I was not even undressed yet when she came in. They were so nice. We got all attached, answered about 20 minutes of questions, she said the baby looked good and she would be back in 20 minutes or so to check back in. Bob's back started to hurt so he ran to the gift shop (that ended up taking him across the hospital to the pharmacy in the Dr.s Building) to get himself some advil-ish stuff to help. As this was all happening the temp outside was dropping from 40 to 30 to 20 to somewhere in the teens.
Bob came back in just in time to meet our midwife Julie, who was very nice and helpful and explained to me that I was having contractions and while monitoring they were going to give me a shot (something that starts with a T) and a pill (can't remember that one) to get them to stop. 33 weeks and 4 days is just too early. So, she said it was going to make me a bit jumpy and I could either get something from the cafeteria or she could grab me a turkey sandwich and some apple juice. I was fine with turkey, I really was not very hungry at this time anyway. She brought me a little turkey sandwich, 2 apple juices (2 oz each) a tropical fruit cup, a cranberry oatmeal cookie and a chocolate pudding cup. So, I ate the turkey and had one of the juice and then they gave me the shot, (which burnt like hell!) and the pill, and within about 30 seconds my hands started shaking and we were in for the long haul to wait for these things to end. I was not feeling what I thought contractions were or have felt like, just a bit of pain here and there but those beds are not comfortable at all. We had a good time listening to the baby for the next (yes you guessed it) 5 hours! She was up and down and loved the juice and random conversation while we waited, called the nurses station so they could unplug me to pee, the call them again so they could hook me back up again. It was funny that we didn't really even watch cable, we watched the biggest loser, well I watched and Bob made fun just like at home and the nurse Katie was so sweet that she even brought him a more comfortable chair for his back. So, the Dr on duty was super busy and we ended up having to wait to leave not the normal 4 hours but 5 because they could not get him out of delivery to check in for long enough. All is well in the world and we were on our way, I even got to walk out of the hospital. Bob got the car that we were driving slow until we could get the tires fixed and in 12 degrees we were on our way home. I was told it would be best for me to stay home and on bed rest (left side all that) to monitor if I was having any more contractions and if so monitor and if there were more than 6 in an hour we were to head back in. I called my Dr the next morning to check in and make sure they were aware and they stated it would be better if they were strong contractions to go back in if I had 4 or more in an hour.
Well my 24 hours is over and I had a few but not enough for a trip back in, thankfully. Back to work tomorrow, and all should be normal once more. We got a rental car and bob yelled enough that we got the equivalent of our car, we got an Equinox that has all wheel drive so we are ready if and when the snow hits tomorrow. I am hoping it does not, we have a parenting class tomorrow night, that I would like to not reschedule. We have the car at the dealership and Bob was a champ, handled everything including the horrible service at State Farm.

So now what do I do.......

So now what do I do with all of the BLUE stuff that's I bought? Guess I will use what I can and put PINK bows on all the rest...
If you have not figured out by now, she's a girl. We have pictures and I will post them soon but it was a long day yesterday and I think there is a part of me still in shock. I really thought it was a boy, I bought boy things, I have friends that ALL have boys.. It seemed natural that I would have a boy too. Don't get me wrong I am so excited she's a girl, I just was ready for a boy, something told me another boy and I will get hand me downs.
Bob is happy, he did say "This is God's way of telling me I am going to continue to cut the grass for a while"

Pictures to come soon...

Ultrasound day --

So, I had my 5th month check in before my big 20 week check up. (yes, 20 weeks is also 5 months but this is an extra special visit) so even though the tech was checking something other than the baby she still needs to make sure everything is going well. so, Bob and I made a deal that we would not find out the sex until the visit he could go to, so I asked Karen to write down the sex and seal the envelope of the card I got and this is what she wrote on the outside.
She was very proud of herself for writing that. Bob still didn't go for it. I may have Rhonda call him, I hear she wore Mark down!
This was the first shot today, the "High five Daddy", it's cute.

The one that says "hand" bob thinks shows the winky and he knows from that, we are having a boy, he will bet me $5 but won't open the envelope.

The baby was talking to us while Karen was doing the ultrasound, the funny thing was it really looked like a puppet.

more leg shots, this one is from the top going down. This kid's got some legs!
HB was 160
and I swear she said weighs 10 oz...

Week 18. Captian's log, will I ever sleep again?

Captains' log, 15th October the natives are getting restless, one is snoring in my face half the night and the other bouncing on my bladder. I have a feeling they are trying to wear me down until I am unwilling to fight back and just order pizza all the time.
Somethings going on that is stopping me from sleeping. Something between 2 and 3:30 am. Could be family stress from that horrible woman sending hate mail or it could be that I am more afraid that I won't wake up if a baby cries. I am not thinking so much the latter only because I know it's not here yet, I don't need to get up yet. Who knows, I even tried a benedryl and it didn't work. I talked to my sister in law tonight on the phone and she said, "you are just like your brother, he can sleep thru anything, it takes over 20 seconds for him to even realize I am shaking him.. I will never have that again :'( I would be ok if I could just sleep, even if I did get up t o "go" I can normally fall back asleep after. Some people say, get up if you can't fall back asleep after 10 minutes, go read or move around for 20 minutes or so then go back to bed. That won't work for me.

Well, I am at my pseudo half way mark this week. I hit #19 in a few short days... I also have an ultrasound tomorrow. I can still see most of my feet, I am out about 3 to 4 inches from where I started.. I used to have great abs, that will happen again one day.. I hope. Gulp....

Week 16- MONTH 4 - Showing..

I started showing somewhere at the end of week 15 and start of week 16 and yeah, it's so odd. I used to be so thin in the center that this is really odd and hard for me.. I mean your ass never gets in the way when your trying to bend over and tie your shoes.
So, with that said, I guess it's time to cover my mouth.. Literally! I seem to have started this way of thinking (it must be the view that everyone else things my body is public now) that makes me say things to people that maybe they just don't want to hear...
Examples -
1. Spoke to Brother in law about going into labor and water breaking (he may need professional help now)
2. I seem to make it public information when I need to go to the bathroom
3. Had birthing conversation with one of the VP's at work, male, he was fine with it and even told me a few things I didn't know, but really would have never had this conversation with him.. EVER..

I am getting ready to register soon. Our BIG Ultrasound is on Halloween and I am starting to have second thought about finding out the sex.. Opinions please.. what do u think? (add a comment)

Week 15 - Ultrasound 3

Today Lisa, Mom and I went to my third ultrasound and had a lot of fun. there are 2 TV's in the room so I got to watch one and they watched the Tech (Karen) do the amazing job that she does.

So, here are a few pictures.

1. Heres the hands, looks like a good set of five fingers to me!

2. The legs crossed (and the tushe) I think this baby has Bob's legs..

3. a Close up Profile. Babys facing the left side of the page. Head at the top of the right, belly at the bottom center ish.

4. So, we got one of the feet again (Karen likes feet as much as I do)

We had a great time, went to the ultrasound, went shopping at Gordmans, went to Moes for dinner and it was good then went to DSW and I got 2 pair of shoes.. I am so excited. it was so fun!

I am feeling so much better now, getting my energy back and I finally feel like I am getting some sleep. Not up every 2 hours peeing and having freaky dreams.

Good day, good week 15.

Month 4 starts next week.

Week 11 - a few gigles while I am awake

Top 5 ways you know your in your first trimester

1. you put your keys in your hand and can't find them but for some reason you can't forget that you wanted a fish sandwish from McDonalds 4 days ago.

2. you almost fall asleep in the bathroom at work because you pee so slow and so long

3. The cafeteria lady at work is the first to touch your belly and your still wearing your normal clothes (so strange!)

4. No matter how tired you are, your still up at 1 am to p then again a half hour before the alarm goes off

5. You have some dream about your husband that leaves you pissed at him for most of a full day. (yeah, mine was someone was throwing snowballs at me and he didn't think it was a big deal, I woke up pissed and I am sure I didn't speak to him for well over an hour)

And the Bonus... Your at the Waterway and turn to the guy that wants to sell you a car wash and say " I dont NEED a gas station right now thank you!" before you can even figure out what is coming out of your mouth!

Ok, Plus - 2nd ultrasound today.. it was nice - abdominal and I even peed first. The baby was pissed because the weather has been so bad that I had to use my inhaler before I went so we didn't get any face shots because the little bugger was too busy being the next olympic gymnest!

Karen (the tech) had the worst time getting a clear shot of the babys face and legs and feet because there was quite a bit of dancing going on in there. No wonder I think I have to pee then I dribble, theres a show going on in there!
So, mom went with me. I was really glad she did. I think this is all so interesting that I am glad she got to go and see it all live.
We also went to Red Robin after and I got a chocolate malt and she got the worlds LARGEST rootbeer float!
(pictures soon.)

Week 8 almost over --

Went to get my ultrasound today. Found out I have a small cyst on my right ovary. Not so sure what that means now but I am seeing the Dr tomorrow so he will tell us more. But I do have our babies first pictures!!!
So the first picture is the little card they gave me to put the pictures in, it's so cute.
the second is the not the first pictures but the second actually but i reversed them when adding them in. So the top pictures is the Ring (that is the yolk sac, going away slowly. The lady that did the US called it a halo it was very cute. She was so nice.
The Second picture was actually the first she took. As you can see it's a babies first picture. I'm thinking he already! His heartbeat was 171 bpm. Thats too fast for a girl. Not that a girl would be bad either but who would cut the grass with bob?
About me? I am feeling ok, sleeping a LOT! not really sick yet all in all, doing really well.
